Registration for the 2026 Salvador Carnival Queen contest officially opens on Monday, January 5. The initiative is organized by the International Forum of Communication of Ecology and Tourism (FICET) and carries the theme 'Bahia of All Sambas.'

Eligible participants must be women over 18 years of age with a minimum height of 1.65 meters who are currently attending high school. The selection process involves a combination of jury evaluation and public voting. Twelve candidates will be selected to advance to the next stage, where they will participate in a themed parade and bikini presentation. The final winner will be determined in a separate event, receiving the title, sash, and crown, while the most voted candidate receives a two-point bonus on their final score.

The 2026 edition of the Salvador Carnival Queen contest has announced the opening of registration on January 5. The selection of the Carnival Queen relies on a transparent judging process conducted by a commission formed by a president and guests chosen by the contest coordination. The evaluation will be conducted openly, with judges assigning scores from 1 to 5 based on specific criteria. These criteria include beauty, plastic, port, and composure, assessing the candidates' overall presentation and demeanor.

Public involvement plays a significant role in the competition. Out of the total score, the public will have the opportunity to vote once for their preferred candidate. The candidate with the highest number of votes will receive a two-point bonus added to their final grade, which is then combined with the jury's evaluation. A total of 12 candidates will be selected to proceed to the final stages of the contest. Their profiles will be published on the official website and social media channels to facilitate public voting.

The selection of the finalists is scheduled for a date to be defined by the contest coordination. During this phase, the 12 selected candidates will participate in a parade wearing thematic costumes chosen by the organization, as well as bikinis. The final decision regarding the Carnival Queen will take place at a separate event, the date of which will be announced later.

The winner will receive the sash and crown from the previous year's titleholder. She will also perform the final parade and pose for official press photographs. In addition to the Queen, the First and Second Princesses will also be crowned. Regarding the prizes, the monetary values for the winners have not yet been disclosed. The coordination stated that the prize amounts will be announced before the final of the contest and will be paid out after the Carnival season.
