Man Shot Dead in Bar After Throwing Bottle

A fatal shooting occurred on the night of Wednesday, January 7, at a bar in Pará de Minas, resulting in the death of a 45-year-old man. The victim was seated outside the establishment with his wife when a motorcyclist approached and opened fire.

Despite the victim attempting to defend himself by throwing a bottle at the shooter, he sustained multiple gunshot wounds at close range and died at the scene. The attacker fled immediately and remains at large. Emergency services confirmed the death, and police investigators have collected evidence from the location.

The attack took place at the entrance of a bar in Pará de Minas, Minas Gerais. Witnesses reported that the victim was sitting outside consuming beer in the company of his wife when a motorcyclist stopped near the couple. According to the police report, the assailant dismounted his vehicle and immediately drew a weapon, firing multiple shots at the man.

The victim attempted to flee the scene but fell after reacting to the aggression by throwing a bottle against the shooter. The assailant fled the location immediately after the shooting. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was activated and arrived at the scene to confirm the man's death.

A video circulating on social media captured the moment of the attack. The footage shows the suspect arriving on a motorcycle and parking directly in front of the bar. The video depicts the assailant dismounting and opening fire immediately upon approaching the victim. This visual evidence was utilized by authorities during the initial investigation.

The victim's wife provided a statement regarding the events leading up to the shooting. She reported that she was distracted playing on her cell phone when she heard the gunshots. Startled by the noise, she ran away from the location immediately.

According to the Polícia Militar, the victim was known to authorities. He had various previous police records and had previously been the target of an attempted homicide the previous year.

The Polícia Civil forensics team arrived at the location to conduct necessary investigations and evidence collection. Following the processing of the crime scene, the body was transported to the Instituto Médico Legal (IML). At the time of the report, the shooter had not been located.
