Fatal Rollover Crash on BR-060 in Goiás

A woman died following a single-vehicle accident on BR-060 in Goianápolis, Goiás. The victim was identified as Lorena Monique Silva.

The crash occurred when the vehicle left the road and overturned. According to the Corpo de Bombeiros, three other individuals were inside the car at the time of the accident.

Two adolescents in the back seat suffered fraturas nas pernas (leg fractures). The driver and the other passenger were also involved in the incident.

The accident took place on Wednesday, December 24, on the BR-060 highway. The vehicle involved in the crash left the pavement and rolled over into a ditch.

When emergency teams arrived at the scene, the vehicle was located in a ribanceira (ravine or steep bank). The Fire Department confirmed that the crash resulted in one fatality and two injuries.

The two adolescents who were seated in the back of the vehicle sustained injuries described as leg fractures. The names of the other three victims were not released to the public.

Following the news of the accident, tributes for Lorena Monique Silva appeared on social media platforms. Friends and family expressed their grief over the sudden loss.

One friend posted a message saying, "Inacreditável saber que você se foi. Que Deus te receba, e console o coração do seu filho e da sua família" (Incredible to know you are gone. May God receive you, and comfort the heart of your son and your family).

A bar where the victim was employed also issued a statement regarding her passing. The establishment noted, "Lorena fez parte da nossa história e deixa lembranças de dedicação, carinho e companheirismo" (Lorena was part of our history and leaves behind memories of dedication, affection, and companionship).

Authorities have not provided further updates on the condition of the injured adolescents or the driver. The identities of the other passengers remain undisclosed.

The investigation into the specific cause of the vehicle leaving the roadway is ongoing. The location is known for being in the Região Metropolitana de Goiânia.
