The property listing first went live in December 2024 with an asking price of $200 million. By April of the following year, the price had been reduced to $130 million. According to Miami-Dade property records, the previous owners purchased the property for $27,500,000 in 2018. The sellers, who chose to remain unidentified, never built on the land. The listing noted that predesigns for a 25,000-square-foot estate would be available to the buyer.

Jeff Bezos owns three properties on Indian Creek totaling $237 million. Two of these properties are adjacent to one another, and Bezos has plans to build a single massive estate on the combined lots. The third mansion serves as his temporary residence while construction on the main estate is underway.

Indian Creek is located approximately 15 miles from Miami. The island is highly secure, accessible only by a single bridge connecting it to the mainland. It features about 40 homes spread over 300 acres and an ultra-exclusive country club.

The island's police department monitors the area's only entrance and patrols the perimeter around the clock. In addition to Bezos, the island is home to properties owned by:

Ilya Reznik, who represented the sellers of the vacant lot, previously stated that the high prices in the area are driven by the unique location and the arrival of high-profile residents like Bezos. While the identity of the buyer is unknown, records indicate that the purchase was made through a trust managed by Miami attorney Joseph Hernandez. The buyer is now neighbors with Jeff Bezos in one of the most exclusive enclaves in the United States.

The vacant lot offers the new owner the opportunity to build a significant estate in a location where land is scarce.
