The highly anticipated Trump Mobile T1 smartphone has faced a significant release delay. Originally announced for an August launch, the device is now scheduled to ship at the end of January 2026. This news was confirmed by a customer service representative, who noted that the recent government shutdown contributed to the hold-up.

The device, priced at $499, generated initial buzz for its promise of being manufactured domestically. However, the company quietly removed the 'Made in the USA' claim shortly after the product reveal. Alongside the hardware, the company is promoting a specialized service plan and has pivoted to selling refurbished devices while awaiting the T1's arrival.

The T1 smartphone was officially unveiled on June 16, coinciding with the 10-year anniversary of President Donald Trump's first campaign launch. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump initially promoted the gold-colored device with a target release window of August. However, the timeline has shifted significantly.

A representative for the company stated that the device will not ship until the end of January 2026. The delay is reportedly linked to the recent government shutdown. The postponement means customers will miss the opportunity to use the device during New Year's Eve festivities.

The T1 smartphone largely resembles modern Android devices. A major point of contention has been the device's country of origin. The phone was initially advertised as being 'MADE IN THE USA,' which raised questions within the tech community regarding the feasibility of that price point without foreign supply chains.

Within days of the launch, the 'MADE IN THE USA' wording was removed from the Trump Mobile website. The description was altered to state the phone is 'brought to life right here in the USA' and made with 'American hands.'

Alongside the hardware, Trump Mobile is offering the '47 Plan.' This service package costs $47.45 per month and includes unlimited texting, calling, and data. Additional perks listed are roadside assistance, tele-health services, and device protection.

Due to the missed launch window, the company has diversified its inventory. They are currently selling secondhand phones from Samsung and Apple, with prices ranging from $369 to $629. Furthermore, the company's social media presence has been inactive for four months, with the last post on August 27.

Despite the delay, Trump Mobile continues to accept pre-orders. Customers can secure a device with a $100 deposit, with the remaining $399 due upon shipment.
