Microsoft Adds Star Wars Outlaws, Resident Evil Village to Game Pass

Microsoft has revealed the initial lineup of games coming to Game Pass in January 2026. The announcement highlights two significant titles joining the subscription service: Star Wars Outlaws and Resident Evil Village.

These additions provide subscribers with access to high-profile games released at full retail price. The releases are staggered throughout the month, beginning with immediate additions and concluding with the major titles in the second and third weeks of January.

Star Wars Outlaws is set to arrive on Game Pass on January 13. The game is Ubisoft's first major foray into the Star Wars universe, placing players in an open world as the young thief Kay Vess.

The third-person action title features a mix of gameplay mechanics, including melee combat, shooting, and stealth elements. Players can also engage in speeder chases and space dogfights. This release offers an opportunity for subscribers to play the title without purchasing the full $70 game.

Access to Star Wars Outlaws will be restricted to specific subscription tiers. It will be available for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. The game will be playable on cloud, PC, and current-gen Xbox consoles.

Capcom's Resident Evil Village is scheduled to land on Game Pass on January 20. Released in 2021, the title is described as "a gothic fairy tale masquerading as a survival-horror game."

The game is the eighth mainline entry in the franchise and serves as a departure from previous series installments while retaining familiar horror, puzzles, and action. Players encounter various enemies, including the iconic Countess Alcina Dimitrescu, werewolves, sea creatures, and creepy dolls.

Unlike Star Wars Outlaws, Resident Evil Village will be available to a broader range of subscribers. It supports Ultimate, Premium, and PC tiers. The game will be accessible on cloud, console, and PC platforms.

In addition to the headline titles, Microsoft announced several other games joining the service this month. These additions cover a variety of genres and release dates.

The following games are scheduled for release:

• Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition and Brews & Bastards: Available today.
• Atomfall and Rematch: Available on January 7.
• Final Fantasy 2D pixel remake: Available on January 8.

Atomfall is a first-person survival action game, while Rematch is an online soccer game. Brews & Bastards is identified as a twin-stick shooter.

The January 2026 Game Pass lineup reflects Microsoft's ongoing strategy to bolster its subscription service with diverse content. By securing Star Wars Outlaws and Resident Evil Village, the service continues to offer high-value titles shortly after their initial retail release.
