The doll features a posable skeleton and mechanical facial features, alongside Bluetooth integration with the Lovense ecosystem. While the company suggests the device could help users engage with real people, the report highlights previous security concerns regarding the company's data handling practices.

Lovense appeared at CES 2026 to launch a 'companion doll' that the company describes as more than just a life-size sex doll. The device is equipped with a proprietary AI engine that promises 'human-like cognition, emotional awareness and expressive behavior.' In marketing materials, the doll is referred to as Emily.

The company frames the product as a response to the global loneliness crisis. According to Lovense, the system is designed to evolve alongside the user. The company states that, over time, a user’s relationship with the system will grow deeper as it learns to adapt to their needs. Lovense positions the doll as the natural evolution of virtual companions, moving beyond screens and phones into the physical realm.

The AI technology focuses on memory and continuity. The system is designed to remember details of previous conversations, theoretically enabling users to build a deeper bond. The technology is not limited to in-home use; users can engage with the AI while out and about by messaging it via the Lovense app. Additionally, the system can generate 'AI-generated selfies that mirror her real-world appearance' upon request.

Lovense has installed various servos and mechanisms that allow the doll to slightly move its mouth while speaking and display basic facial expressions.
