Young Man Arrested in Olímpia for Child Sexual Abuse Material

A 20-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday morning in Olímpia, São Paulo, after police discovered child sexual abuse material stored on his cell phones. The operation was conducted by officers from the Women's Defense Department (DDM) at a residence in the Menina Moça II neighborhood.

The arrest followed an investigation triggered by a tip from the Disque 100 channel, which reported the commercialization of abusive videos. Police executed a search and seizure warrant issued by the Guarantees Judge of São José do Rio Preto. During the search, two cell phones were found in the suspect's room. After analyzing the devices, officers located the videos. The suspect confessed to buying and storing the material via PIX payments and contacting people involved in selling the videos. He was taken into custody for the crime defined in Article 241-B of the Child and Adolescent Statute.

Police officers arrested a 20-year-old man in the city of Olímpia, located in the interior of São Paulo state. The arrest took place during the morning hours of Tuesday, December 23. The operation was carried out by the Women's Defense Department (DDM), a unit of the Civil Police.

The authorities arrived at the suspect's home situated in the Menina Moça II neighborhood. They were acting on a search and seizure warrant authorized by the Guarantees Judge of São José do Rio Preto. Upon entering the residence, officers searched the premises and located two cell phones inside the suspect's bedroom. These devices were immediately seized for examination.

The investigation that led to the arrest began after a report was received through the Disque 100 channel. The report alleged that the suspect was involved in the commercialization of videos depicting sexual abuse against children. Following this denunciation, the Civil Police initiated the necessary legal procedures to obtain a warrant.

After the devices were analyzed, police confirmed the presence of videos containing child sexual abuse content. During the interrogation, the young man admitted to acquiring and storing this type of material. He stated that he purchased links containing the videos and paid for them using PIX. Furthermore, he acknowledged maintaining contact with other individuals who were involved in the commercial distribution of these illegal videos.

The suspect was arrested in flagrante delicto (caught in the act). He faces charges under Article 241-B of the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA). This specific article criminalizes the acquisition, possession, or storage of photography, video, or any form of record containing explicit sexual or pornographic scenes involving children or adolescents.

The law stipulates that those found guilty of this crime face a penalty of one to four years in prison and a fine. Following the arrest, the two cell phones seized from the suspect's room were sent to the police forensics department for detailed analysis to gather further evidence.
