Tocantins Announces First 2026 Vehicle Auction

The Departamento Estadual de Trânsito do Tocantins (Detran-TO) has announced the first vehicle auction of 2026. The event is scheduled for January 15 and 16 in Gurupi, located in the southern region of the state.

Authorities will make 625 vehicles available to the public. The inventory is divided into two categories: 422 units are classified as sucatas (scrap), while 203 are in estado de conservação (conservation state) and suitable for driving.

Bidding will commence at R$ 30 and reach a maximum cap of R$ 3,000. The auction will be conducted entirely online, starting at 9:00 AM, with live transmission hosted on the Sancar Veículos platform. Physical inspection of the assets is permitted between January 5 and 14. Visits can be made on weekdays during two time slots: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The inspection site is located at Via Primária 3, SN, Qd 04, Lts 19 a 23, within the Parque Industrial of Gurupi.

Eligibility for bidding varies based on vehicle classification. Individuals and juridical entities may bid on vehicles approved for circulation. However, vehicles classified as scrap are strictly reserved for companies holding a valid CNAE registration specifically for dismantling activities.

Access is granted during standard business hours, specifically from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The location for these visits is the company's yard situated in the Industrial Park of Gurupi.

For vehicles classified as conservados para circulação (conserved for circulation), eligibility is broad. Both pessoas físicas (individuals) and pessoas jurídicas (legal entities/corporations) are permitted to place bids and acquire these assets.

Conversely, strict limitations apply to vehicles classified as sucatas. These units can only be arrematados (acquired) by companies. Specifically, the acquiring entity must possess a valid registration with the Classificação Nacional de Atividade Econômica (CNAE). Furthermore, the company's registered economic activity must explicitly include vehicle dismantling.

These regulations ensure that operational vehicles remain accessible to the general public, while scrap vehicles are channeled through proper industrial recycling and dismantling channels.
