Drug Delivery Bust: Motorcycle Courier Arrested in Campo Grande

A routine patrol in Campo Grande resulted in the arrest of two men suspected of using a delivery service to traffic drugs. The incident occurred on Tuesday, December 23, around 22:00 in the Jardim Noroeste neighborhood.

Police officers from the Batalhão de Choque (Shock Battalion) initiated the encounter after observing a motorcyclist behaving suspiciously. The subsequent investigation revealed a 'disk-delivery' drug operation, leading to the seizure of approximately 11 kilograms of narcotics and a firearm.

The operation began when Military Police officers noticed a man leaving a residence on a red motorcycle. Upon spotting the patrol car, the rider immediately accelerated, prompting the officers to conduct a traffic stop.

Although the initial search of the suspect and the vehicle revealed nothing irregular, officers noticed he was wearing a delivery bag on his back. A closer inspection of the bag's compartment led to a significant discovery.

Inside the bag, police found three portions of pasta base de cocaína (cocaine base paste). This finding contradicted the suspect's initial appearance and triggered a deeper investigation into his activities.

When questioned about the contents of his bag, the motorcyclist provided details regarding his illicit business model. He admitted to selling drugs using a 'disk-entrega' (disk-delivery) system, a method similar to legitimate food delivery services.

The suspect explained that he used the delivery bag specifically to avoid drawing attention while transporting contraband. He further revealed that he picked up the drugs from his brother-in-law's house and made multiple trips throughout the day to fulfill delivery orders.

Based on this confession, the police team proceeded to the address provided by the suspect to locate the source of the drugs.

Upon arriving at the residence indicated by the first suspect, officers encountered the second suspect, the brother-in-law. According to police reports, this individual confirmed his involvement in trafficking and voluntarily showed officers where additional drugs and paraphernalia were hidden.

The search of the premises yielded a substantial amount of narcotics. Police confiscated:

• 10 tabletes of a substance resembling cocaine
• 20 porções of similar substance
• Various portions of maconha (marijuana)

In total, the police seized approximately 11 kilograms of drugs. Additionally, officers found a firearm with a magazine but no ammunition inside the home. The second suspect also confirmed that he operated a 'disk-delivery' traffic model in the region.

Following the conclusion of the on-site investigation, all seized items were processed. The narcotics and the red motorcycle were transported to the Delegacia Especializada de Repressão ao Narcotráfico (Denar) for further processing and cataloging.

Both suspects were taken into custody and transferred to the Delegacia de Pronto Atendimento Comunitário (Depac) Cepol. The recovered firearm was also handed over to the authorities at this facility as part of the evidence collection process.
