The text highlights that municipal education units "must ensure respect for individual and collective rights, preventing any acts of discrimination, embarrassment, and physical or psychological violence against any student due to gender identity or sexual orientation, within the scope of their performance."

Operational Changes

Regarding academic documentation, the rule previously in force established that the use of social names in Class Diaries, medical records, and declarations should be accompanied by the civil name. Under the new resolution, the social name is now used exclusively in the Digital Diary, declarations, daily student lists, and in any identification and authorization generated by the systems of the department.

The new resolution highlights that the use of a social name can be requested from the school at any time, by filling out and signing a request, either by the guardian or by the student themselves, in cases of civil majority. Once the request is formalized, managers have three business days to insert the social name into the systems of the Municipal Education Secretariat and internal school circulation documents. Furthermore, professionals working at the school must be oriented about treating students exclusively by their social name within five business days from the request.
