R$14 Million Investment Transforms Key Piauí Highway

A significant infrastructure upgrade is reshaping travel across central Piauí. The State Government has committed R$14 million to the full recovery of the PI-115 highway, a critical artery linking two important municipalities.

Leo Sobral, the general director of DER-PI, emphasized the project's core mission. He stated that the work is part of a larger effort to strengthen transport infrastructure, with the primary goal of ensuring safe and efficient traffic flow while protecting all users of the road.

“The work of fortalecimento da infraestrutura de transportes segue com a missão principal que é permitir trafegabilidade segura e eficiente, protegendo os usuários. A população desses dois municípios soma mais de 25 mil habitantes e, portanto, ao término das obras que está previsto para abril deste ano, teremos mais uma rodovia em ótimas conditions.”

The necessity of this investment is underscored by the highway's heavy usage. According to data from DER-PI, the PI-115 route supports an average of 3,000 vehicles per day.

This high volume of daily traffic highlights the intense demand placed on the existing infrastructure. The data validates the need for significant improvements to handle current and future transportation needs effectively.
