Quick Summary#

UGREEN has made a significant move in the gaming accessory market with a deep discount on its popular 6-in-1 Steam Deck Dock. This price adjustment positions the device as the most cost-effective solution for gamers looking to expand their handheld's capabilities. The dock transforms portable devices into full-fledged desktop stations with minimal investment.

Designed for versatility, the hub is not limited to Valve's handheld. It supports a broad ecosystem of popular devices, including the ASUS ROG Ally X, Lenovo Legion Go, and even Apple MacBooks. This multi-device compatibility makes it an essential tool for users who own multiple gadgets and want a single, streamlined connection point for their displays and accessories.

Unmatched Versatility#

The core strength of this docking station lies in its universal compatibility. It effectively bridges the gap between various operating systems and form factors, allowing a seamless transition between gaming and work. Users can switch from a Steam Deck gaming session to a MacBook productivity workflow without changing cables or peripherals.

This single hub eliminates the clutter of multiple adapters and chargers. Its design is specifically tailored to complement the aesthetic and functional needs of modern handhelds while providing the robust connectivity of a desktop dock.

The device supports the following popular handhelds and laptops:

  • Valve Steam Deck (All models)
  • ASUS ROG Ally X
  • Lenovo Legion Go
  • Apple MacBook (via USB-C)
  • Other USB-C compatible devices

Desktop Power on a Budget#

With the recent deep discount, the UGREEN 6-in-1 dock has become the cheapest way to upgrade a handheld gaming setup. This price point makes premium features—like external display output and peripheral connectivity—accessible to a wider audience of gamers. It democratizes the desktop experience for portable gaming enthusiasts.

Previously, achieving a similar setup required more expensive proprietary docks or a collection of separate, costly accessories. UGREEN's solution consolidates these needs into one affordable package. The value proposition is clear: for a fraction of the cost of brand-name alternatives, users gain a fully functional, multi-port hub.

Game on a bigger screen without spending a lot.

The dock's affordability does not come at the expense of functionality. It provides the essential ports needed to connect an external monitor, keyboard, mouse, and network cable, effectively turning a portable console into a stationary workstation or media center.

Key Features & Connectivity#

As a 6-in-1 hub, the device offers a comprehensive array of ports designed to handle diverse connectivity demands. The layout is engineered for convenience, allowing users to dock their device with a single USB-C connection while gaining immediate access to multiple expansion options. This design is crucial for maintaining a clean and efficient desk setup.

The specific port selection ensures that users are prepared for various scenarios, from competitive gaming requiring a wired internet connection to professional tasks needing external storage and input devices. The hub's architecture supports high-speed data transfer and stable video output.

The six essential ports include:

  • HDMI for connecting to external monitors or TVs
  • USB-C Power Delivery for charging the host device
  • USB-A 3.0 ports for peripherals like keyboards and mice
  • Gigabit Ethernet for a stable, low-latency internet connection
  • USB-C Data port for additional storage or accessories

A Hub for Every User#

This docking station is more than just a gaming accessory; it is a productivity enhancer for anyone using a USB-C laptop or handheld. For MacBook users, it serves as an affordable alternative to more expensive docks, providing all necessary ports for a home or office setup. For gamers, it unlocks the full potential of their handheld by enabling a console-like experience on a large screen.

The plug-and-play nature of the device ensures that setup is straightforward, with no complex drivers or software required. This simplicity is a key factor in its appeal, making it accessible to users of all technical skill levels. Its compact form factor also makes it an ideal travel companion for those who need to set up a mobile workstation on the go.

By supporting such a wide range of high-profile devices, UGREEN has created a universal tool that adapts to the user's needs, not the other way around. It stands as a testament to the growing convergence of gaming and computing ecosystems.

Looking Ahead#

The UGREEN 6-in-1 Steam Deck Dock represents a pivotal moment in the gaming accessory market. Its recent price reduction makes it an undeniable value leader, offering premium functionality at a budget-friendly cost. For gamers and professionals alike, it provides a simple, elegant solution to expand their device's potential.

As handheld gaming continues to grow in popularity, accessories like this will become increasingly essential. UGREEN's offering sets a new standard for affordability and versatility, proving that a high-quality desktop experience doesn't have to come with a high price tag. It is the definitive upgrade for anyone looking to maximize their investment in a portable gaming device.

The Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder arrives on March 26

The Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder arrives on March 26

While many of us wait (im)patiently for a brand new Mario platformer for the Switch 2, Nintendo is filling the gap with an upgraded version of the tremendous Super Mario Bros. Wonder for the console. Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park (to give the new edition's full name) will arrive on March 26. Those who own the original Switch version of the game will be able to buy an upgrade pack, which costs $20. There's a lot of new stuff in the Switch 2 version, including co-op and multiplayer features. Bellabel Park, a fresh area of the Flower Kingdom, will open up. You can jump into some multiplayer modes here, such as one where you compete to collect as many coins as possible. A section that's all about local multiplayer has 17 co-op and versus modes. You can either play those on the same console or use GameShare so that up to three other people in the same physical place as you can join in on their own Switch or Switch 2. The Game Room Plaza, meanwhile, supports local and online play for six minigames — each player will need their own system for those. Up to eight people can play using the local wireless feature, and up to 12 via online multiplayer. Along with those multiplayer minigame areas, Bellabel Park is home to Toad Brigade Training Camp. Here, you can take on challenges based on levels from the main game. You can tackle these on your own or recruit up to three friends to help (you'll only need one Switch 2 for this). There are new things to check out in the main game as well. You can take on boss courses that feature all seven Koopalings and (finally!) play as Rosalina. Nintendo is adding an option in which a second player can control a Luma. They can help out the main player by defeating enemies and collecting coins. You can play as the Luma by using the Switch 2 mouse control feature. That's a great idea, as it could allow, say, a parent or guardian who is not too familiar with a game controller to assist a kid who needs some extra help to get through Super Mario Bros. Wonder. In addition, there's an assist mode. When this is enabled, you can quickly recover from falling into a pit (with a propeller flower bringing you back into the action) and avoid taking any damage. That's not all, folks. Also on March 26, you can snag three new amiibo from the game: Elephant Mario (which I'm going to have to buy), Poplin & Prince Florian and Captain Toad & Talking Flower. A couple of weeks earlier, on March 12, Nintendo will start selling a physical version of the Talking Flower from Super Mario Bros. Wonder. The battery-powered device will talk to you a couple of times per hour, mentioning things like the room temperature and time. It can play music as well. There's a button you can press to hear it talk (or hold to make it shut up). There's support for 11 languages and it can chatter at set times, making it a bit similar to Nintendo's Alarmo. You'll be able to buy Talking Flower from Nintendo's New York and San Francisco stores, its online store and some other retailers, with pre-orders opening today.
