Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord Sets April 2026 Premiere

The wait is finally over for fans of the iconic Sith Lord. Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord has officially been slated for a April 6, 2026 debut on Disney+, bringing the fan-favorite villain back to the small screen in a brand-new animated adventure.

Alongside the premiere date announcement, the first official teaser trailer dropped, offering a visceral look at the series' gritty tone. The footage highlights Maul wielding his terrifying double-bladed lightsaber as he attempts to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a world that has, until now, remained untouched by the Empire's reach.

Set directly after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the series places Maul on the planet Janix at the dawn of Emperor Palpatine's rule. It is here that the Dark Lord encounters a unique opportunity for an apprentice.

The story introduces Devon Izara, a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who is on the run following the devastation of Order 66. According to the official description, she is the potential apprentice Maul has been seeking to aid him in his relentless pursuit for revenge.
