The European Public Prosecutor's Office is putting the final touches on a report regarding the business activities of Juan Carlos Barrabés. The central question is whether the entrepreneur benefited from irregular procedures in the allocation of public funds. Specifically, investigators are looking at contracts awarded by Red.es, a state-owned company attached to the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service.

The total value of the contracts under review is 8.4 million euros. Barrabés finds himself in a complex legal position, as he is imputed by the European Public Prosecutor's Office and is also a subject of inquiry by the judge investigating Begoña Gómez. The convergence of these investigations highlights the scrutiny surrounding the intersection of private business and public administration.

A tax expert appointed by the authorities had previously issued a report in August. This document highlighted the existence of irregularities in the contracts granted to the companies associated with Barrabés.
