DC Studios Takes Measured Approach to New Batman Film

Hodson's portfolio includes the 2018 Transformers spinoff Bumblebee, the 2020 DCEU entry Birds of Prey, and the 2023 film The Flash. Her involvement suggests a writer familiar with both the DC universe and large-scale superhero storytelling.

The project may reunite her with Andy Muschietti, who directed The Flash. Muschietti remains attached to The Brave and the Bold, though his involvement isn't yet finalized due to his commitments to Welcome to Derry Season 2.

The cameo served an important narrative purpose. It established that Batman already exists within the DCU during the events of Creature Commandos and the Superman movie, eliminating the need to retell his origin story.
